On September 26, 2013, Guadalupe Aguirre was presented with a $7,500 scholarship as Keesal, Young & Logan’s 2013 California Bar Foundation Diversity Scholar. Guadalupe graduated cum laude from UCLA and is attending law school at Berkeley Law. Motivated by her Chicana background and various family hardships, including the death of her brother from gang violence, Guadalupe has committed herself to public interest work. After college, she worked as a case manager for a legal nonprofit organization, serving undocumented victims of violent crimes. During her tenure there, she recognized the critical need for legal advocacy for underrepresented and vulnerable communities. Guadalupe plans to be an advocate for the disenfranchised and a leader for social change.

Guadalupe is the sixth scholar receiving sponsoring a Keesal, Young & Logan Diversity Scholarship through the California Bar Foundation. KYL Shareholder and California Bar Foundation Board Member Julie Taylor chaired the Bar Foundation’s 2013 scholarship committee, which facilitated the award of 22 diversity scholarships to extraordinarily deserving first year law students.
