Ashley Impellitteri is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its Long Beach office. Her practice includes a broad range of civil litigation matters in state and federal court and securities arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and American Arbitration Association (AAA). She also has appellate briefing experience.

In her securities practice, Ashley has defended financial services firms and individual brokers in judicial and arbitration proceedings involving allegations of fraud, unsuitability, breach of fiduciary duty, failure to supervise, elder abuse, and violation of federal and state securities laws. She has experience defending claims involving equities, bonds, derivatives, options, forward purchase contracts, private placements, and other alternative investments. She has also assisted financial services firms in regulatory proceedings before FINRA and the SEC.

Ashley’s maritime practice includes litigation on behalf of shipowners, insurers, ocean carriers, and terminal operators in relation to commercial disputes and personal injuries, as well as advisory matters and complex contract negotiations.

While in law school, Ashley served as a writing advisor and worked with first-year students to develop and refine their legal analysis and written argumentation skills. She also clerked for the nonprofit organization Peace Over Violence, where she worked with survivors of sexual and domestic violence within the civil court system.

Was part of the defense team who defeated $493 million claim against national securities broker-dealer in a 37-day securities arbitration; in addition, Citigroup recovered $2 million from claimants. The result was reported by The Daily Journal’s “Verdicts & Settlement” column and labeled a “Top Verdict,” and also was reported by the Securities Arbitration Commentator and Arb Reporter.
