Shahed Abualsamen is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its Long Beach office. Her practice focuses on a broad range of civil litigation matters, representing clients in securities, employment, and maritime matters in state court, federal court, and arbitration tribunals. Shahed also advises broker-dealer clients with respect to customer complaints against financial advisors and works to successfully resolve such complaints.
A first-generation college student, Shahed received her B.S. from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Finance and a minor in International Business. During her undergraduate studies, Shahed interned for JusticeCorps, a division of AmeriCorps. After spending two years as a legal clerk at a litigation law firm in Chicago, Shahed attended law school and received her J.D. from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles in May 2022.
While in law school, Shahed was invited to join the St. Thomas More Honor Society, which recognizes students in the top 15% of their class. She served as the President of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association, and was an active member of the Women’s Law Society, and the Corporate Law Society. She also externed for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California in their General Civil, Civil Appeals, and Civil Fraud Divisions. Additionally, Shahed had the opportunity to work as a judicial extern for the Honorable Diane M. Shelley in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division Section.
Outside the office Shahed serves as a mentor to pre-law students across the nation. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
