MAYA BARBA


Maya Barba is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its San Francisco office.  Her practice focuses on a broad range of civil litigation matters primarily in the employment, maritime, and securities areas. Maya typically defends clients in court and in arbitration and also advises clients on strategies to avoid litigation when possible.

Maya graduated cum laude from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2021.  While in law school, she served as Notes Editor for Hastings International and Comparative Law Review and was a member of the Women’s Law Society. Maya earned the CALI Award for Excellence in Advanced Legal Research and the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, where she worked as a student attorney assisting clients with applications for asylum. In her Moot Court course, Maya earned the award for best oral advocate.

Prior to law school, Maya earned her B.A. in International Studies with an emphasis in Economics from the University of San Francisco. She studied abroad in Central America and graduated cum laude in 2016.  Maya then spent nearly two years teaching English in Lampang, Thailand.  Maya is an avid traveler who loves cooking, going to concerts and spending time outdoors.  One of her proudest achievements is completing the Annapurna Circuit trek in Nepal in 2018.

Maya has been admitted to practice in the state of California since 2021.
