Hillary’s practice focuses on a wide variety of civil litigation in state and federal court and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).  Hillary regularly defends employers in cases involving claims for discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, defamation, wrongful interference, breach of contract, unfair competition, ERISA violations and related causes of action.  In addition, she defends major financial institutions in state and federal actions involving alleged violations of numerous state and federal laws governing lender-borrower relations.  She also represents registered representatives in expungement proceedings before FINRA.  Hillary additionally has appellate briefing experience in federal and state court.

As part of her regulatory practice, she has extensive experience in advising clients regarding the use and applicability of the California Finance Lender Law and assists clients in applying for and obtaining licensure as a California Finance Lender with the California Department of Business Oversight.  Hillary also advises financial services firms regarding FINRA regulatory investigations.

Hillary graduated with a B.S. in international relations and a minor in Spanish from the University of Southern California in 2009.  While at the University of Southern California, Hillary was named to the Dean’s List and interned for Latham & Watkins LLP and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce.

In 2013, Hillary received her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.  Hillary was a teaching assistant for Legal Research & Writing and an associate editor for the Journal of National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary.  While in law school, Hillary served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and worked as a legal clerk in the Office of International Affairs of the Criminal Division for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

Hillary is admitted to practice law before all state and federal courts in California.
