CONNOR M. TRAFTON

Connor Trafton is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its Long Beach office, and is admitted to practice before all California state and federal courts.  His practice focuses on civil litigation, representing clients in securities, employment, maritime, and products liability matters.   Connor received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2019.  While at UCLA, Connor was elected to the Order of Barristers, a nationwide honors society recognizing students demonstrating outstanding ability in oral advocacy.  He also achieved top-3 finishes in three different nationwide trial advocacy competitions while at UCLA.

Connor has experience analyzing and responding to cargo casualty and longshoreman personal injury matters on behalf of insurers, as well as providing cargo shippers with advice on environmental issues and import/export procedures.

In Connor’s securities practice, he represents financial services firms, registered representatives, and registered investment advisors both in court and in FINRA arbitration proceedings.  He has defended clients against claims of fraud, suitability, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and violations of state and federal securities laws.  His experience includes defending claims involving publicly-traded equities and options, and other alternative or private placement investments.

Connor also represents employers in arbitration, administrative, and judicial proceedings involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, defamation, trade secret, and non-solicitation claims.  He also counsels clients regarding compliance with employment laws, rules, and regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.

Prior to law school, Connor graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in Justice and Law.  While in Washington, D.C., he externed for Administrative Law Judge Gladys Collazo in the Washington Field Office of the EEOC, and worked as an investigator for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.
