On behalf of a major financial institution, KYL attorneys Melanie Ronen and Valerie Holder prevailed on a Motion for Summary Judgment in an action filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. Plaintiff alleged a number of claims against the financial institution, including violation of the Washington State Consumer Protection Act. After the U.S. District Judge dismissed the action, the plaintiff appealed the grant of summary judgment and the denial of his motion to compel discovery. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the summary judgment and held that the district court did not abuse its discretion by denying the motion to compel discovery.
