SUMMER ASSOCIATES PROGRAM

Keesal, Young & Logan's annual program for summer associates is designed to be both meaningful and enjoyable.  The program is structured to afford a wide variety of work experience for the summer associates and an opportunity for the firm to evaluate its summer associates' skills and abilities.

The firm believes its summer associates can and should be allowed to make significant contributions to the handling and developments of its cases.  Summer associates are thus given an opportunity to perform real work preparing motions or other pleadings to be filed with the court, analyzing documents obtained through discovery, and researching issues of law important to the case rather than projects invented simply to test their skills.

Through a supervising attorney, projects are assigned to summer associates so that each summer associate has the chance to work with as many attorneys in the firm and in as many areas of the firm's practice as possible.  In addition, if a summer associate indicates an interest in a particular area of practice, a special attempt will be made to accommodate that interest.  Most summer associates participate in a variety of the firm's practice areas.  Whenever possible, the firm arranges to include summer associates in court hearings, depositions, investigations, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.  Project-by-project reviews provide constructive and meaningful feedback to the summer associates from which they can learn.

The summer associates program at Keesal, Young & Logan is well-known for its social events.  The firm schedules many social activities away from the office, in more relaxed circumstances, so that members of the firm and summer associates can become better acquainted and get to know each other outside the business context.

Keesal, Young & Logan seeks to attract personable and capable law students who have excelled academically in law school and who have demonstrated a high level of personal achievement.  By its summer associates program, the firm strives to create an atmosphere which encourages professional growth within an environment of supportive camaraderie.
