Jennifer Miranda is a Paralegal and Certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS) in Keesal Young & Logan’s San Francisco office. Jennifer serves as a project manager and eDiscovery consultant to the firm’s attorneys and clients.
Jennifer has been involved in the development of industry standards for much of her career. Jennifer is currently a member of the Duke Law-EDRM Technology Assisted Review (TAR) Standards Project where she, along with other legal experts and the EDRM Team, have developed a TAR User’s Guide to be distributed to the Federal Judiciary at the 2017 ABA Annual Meeting. In 2013, she was an exam writer for the Organization of Legal Professionals’ Certified eDiscovery Professional (CeDP) exam. In 2010, Jennifer served as the Trial Assistant for the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Masters Series Conference.
In 2017, Jennifer was nominated for the International Legal Technology Association’s Distinguished Peer Awards – Young Professional of the Year for her advocacy and assistance in developing KYL’s CEDS Consultation Meeting (CCM) initiative. The initiative systematically integrates jurisdictional rules, client-specific guidelines for eDiscovery, and KYL’s eDiscovery expertise at the outset of every litigation matter.
Since 2012, Jennifer has served on the Advisory Committee for the Paralegal Studies Program at City College of San Francisco. Jennifer is a member of the San Francisco Chapter of Women in E-Discovery and the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA).
Jennifer began her paralegal career as the sole litigation and trial paralegal for a boutique firm in Southern California specializing in business litigation, transactions, and estate planning. There, Jennifer testified in a jury trial regarding an audit of the opposition’s document production after discovering the spoliation of evidence. After moving to San Francisco, she became the lead litigation support and trial paralegal for a firm specializing in professional malpractice and premises liability.
Jennifer earned a B.A. in psychology in 2003 from the University of California, Irvine, and received a Paralegal Certificate from, ABA approved, University of California, Irvine Extension in 2005. Jennifer received her CEDS certification from the Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS) in 2015. Jennifer is an Ipro Certified Administrator for Ipro Tech’s EclipseSE legal review software, and a Certified Operator of Basic Technology (COBOT) in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
