Douglas R. Davis

Doug Davis is a partner in Keesal, Young & Logan’s Anchorage, Alaska office.  He has practiced in Alaska since 1975, and specializes in maritime law, general insurance defense, personal injury defense, and environmental litigation.  Mr. Davis has defended vessel owners and underwriters in numerous ship casualties in Alaska involving collisions, groundings, pollution, fire, cargo and dock damage, and personal injury.  Mr. Davis has extensive experience with vessel casualty management and oil spill response from the legal perspective, including defense of claims for natural resource damage assessment. 

Mr. Davis received his degree in history from the University of Utah in 1972, and his J.D. degree in 1975 from Gonzaga University.  He is a member of the Alaska and Washington Bar Associations.  Mr. Davis is a Proctor member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, and a member of that group’s Marine Ecology Committee.  He is a private pilot and a member of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.
