Melanie Ronen is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its Long Beach office. Her practice focuses on securities and employment matters, including both litigation and counseling.
Ms. Ronen regularly represents employers in judicial,
arbitration, and arbitration proceedings involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, breach of contract, and trade secret claims. She also assists clients with advisory issues, including employee privacy, wage and
hour considerations, harassment investigations, retaliation claims (including Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower considerations), as well as hiring and termination issues.
In addition, Ms. Ronen defends financial services firms and individual securities brokers in matters involving claims for suitability, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence, breach of contract and violation of federal and state securities laws before securities arbitration forums, such as the NASD
and NYSE (now FINRA), as well as in state and federal court.
She also assists corporate clients with trademark prosecution and protection.
Ms. Ronen received her B.A. degree in political science from Seattle University in 1994. She received her J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law in 2002 and was named to the Order of Barristers.
While in law school, Ms. Ronen was a member of the Moot Court Board and represented University of San Diego in the Giles Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court competition.
She was recognized by Law & Politics Magazine as one of Southern California's "Rising Stars" in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Ms. Ronen is admitted before all state and federal courts in California.
