Margaret DeGooyer is an associate with Keesal, Young & Logan in its San Francisco office. Since joining the firm in August 2004, Ms. DeGooyer has worked on a wide variety of general business and litigation matters, focusing on securities and employment litigation. In her employment practice, Ms. DeGooyer has defended companies and executives in judicial, arbitration and administrative proceedings involving discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, violation of federal and state leave laws and breach of contract. Recently, she has represented a maritime company in a wage and hour class action in the Northern District of California. Ms. DeGooyer has handled numerous arbitrations before the NASD and NYSE (now FINRA), as well as the American Arbitration Association, representing financial institutions in disputes involving securities, commercial banking and employment matters. In addition, Ms. DeGooyer has represented maritime clients in immigration and environmental matters initiated by various administrative and governmental agencies.
Ms. DeGooyer received her B.A. in English from Boston College in 1998, and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2004. While in law school, Ms. DeGooyer served as a Notes and Comments Editor on Brooklyn Law School's Journal of International Law. Ms. DeGooyer was admitted to the California Bar in December 2004.
