John Babala’s practice concentrates on corporate and securities matters, with
particular emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, corporate governance issues and securities.
In addition to his mergers and acquisitions practice, Mr. Babala provides general
corporate counseling to a number of corporations, both public and private.
He has
acted as counsel to companies, investment banking firms, buyers, sellers, investors
and management groups in a number of transactions across a variety of industries.
He also represents issuers, borrowers, underwriters and institutional lenders in
corporate finance transactions. Mr. Babala advises software and technology companies,
assisting them with licensing, collaboration, joint venture and financing matters.
Mr. Babala has served on a Committee of the State Bar of California, and is admitted
to practice in California, Illinois and Ohio. He is a 1995 graduate of the
University
of Michigan Law School, who has practiced at prominent law firms in Chicago and
Los Angeles. He also has served as a senior lawyer for a $4 billion public company
based in Los Angeles. Mr. Babala
currently serves as a member of the Society of Corporate Secretaries & Governance
Professionals Smaller Companies Task Force. He is also active in the local community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald
House in Long Beach and the Long Beach Grand Cru, which is the primary fundraiser for the
Long Beach chapter of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
