David Piper is a shareholder with Keesal,
Young & Logan in its Long Beach office. Mr. Piper's
practice emphasizes litigation in the areas
of securities, creditor's rights, bankruptcy, and other business disputes. Mr.
Piper has experience litigating class actions and other complex business-related
claims before state and federal courts, and in various arbitration forums.
Mr.
Piper has prosecuted and defended cases involving claims
of securities and common law fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach
of contract, elder abuse, and unfair business practices,
as well as numerous other business-related
torts. He also speaks on bankruptcy and creditor's rights
topics before professional groups and in continuing education seminars for attorneys. Mr.
Piper is active in the local community and has served on the board of directors
of the YMCA of Greater Long Beach since 2003.
Mr. Piper received his B.A.
degree in history, from the University of California,
Berkeley in 1991.
He earned his J.D., with Distinction,
from the University of the Pacific,
McGeorge School of Law, in 1995, where he was awarded
the Emil Gumpert Trial Advocacy
Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy, spring 1995.
Mr. Piper is AV Peer Rated by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell,
and was voted a "Rising Star of Southern
California Law" by Law & Politics Magazine in 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008. Mr. Piper was admitted
to the California Bar in 1995.
