Doug Davis is a shareholder of Keesal, Young & Logan in its
Anchorage office.
He has practiced in Alaska since 1975, primarily handling maritime casualty
response and litigation. Mr. Davis has defended vessel owners in numerous ship casualties
in Alaska involving collisions and groundings, oil pollution, fire, cargo and dock
damage, and personal injury. Mr. Davis has extensive firsthand experience with
vessel casualty management and oil spill response from the legal perspective, including
defense of natural resource damage assessment claims. He has personally attended
on scene at every major oil spill at the Valdez terminal since the opening of the
Alaska trade, as well as numerous casualties at various ports and remote locations
throughout Alaska. Mr. Davis received his B.A. degree in 1972 from the
University of Utah, and his J.D. degree in 1975 from Gonzaga University. He is a
member of the Alaska and Washington Bar Associations. Mr. Davis is a proctor member
of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and a member of that group’s
Marine Ecology Committee.
He is a private pilot and a member of the Lawyer-Pilots
Bar Association.
