A dramatic greeting was extended to the more than 400 guests attending the Long Beach Cancer League and the American Cancer Society’s 37th Annual Gala on June 16. Impressive female acrobats welcomed the crowd and served champagne upon the arrival of attendees at The Centre in Lakewood.

“A World with more Birthdays” brought in many happy returns, a grand total of $200,000. Guests entered the elegantly lighted ballroom that captured the mood of a festive party atmosphere. Different floral arrangements at each table were centered on embroidered silk and satin tablecloths.

Birthday chocolates from Papa’s Chocolates were gifts to the attendees. Attendees also enjoyed scrumptious culinary creations of Thank Goodness it’s Sofia, and danced the night away to the upbeat music of the Lee Farrell band.
